R M Trailers
R.M. Trailers are designers and manufacturers of boat trailers, special purpose industrial and commercial trailers, exhibition trailers, generator trailers and military trailers. This is also including, skeletal chassis, flatbeds, ground loaders, tipper trailers, generator chassis, plant transporter chassis, and many more that we can't list here!
For example, several different types of boat trailer are built by them:-
R M Trailers have three main types of yacht trailers. The Trailer-Sailers are an important variation available for lifting keel yachts whilst trailer-trolley systems are also available.
Remember when choosing a trailer the weight of the boat is the most important consideration. R M Trailer's yacht trailers are fully E.C. approved with auto-reverse brakes on models over 750kg gross weight and come complete with jockey wheel, lights on extension bars and are fully galvanized. Double row linear contact sealed ball bearings; often known as "sealed for life" bearings are fitted as standard and stainless steel brake cables.
A 12 month warranty is included with every trailer. With suitable care, the trailer can be immersed for floating on and off. In this case, it is recommended that a winch and guide posts are fitted. These are two tall posts at the rear of the trailer, which allow the boat to be positioned easily over the submerged trailer.
All models are fully galvanized including the axles and chock stems. The keel is carried as low as possible, usually 12" above the road, although certain flush bottom boats or boats with wide bilge keels have to be carried higher to clear the mudguards.
For powerboats, they also have two special designs of trailer to accommodate the hull shape.
The first is the "PB" range with keel rollers, side bunks, winch and snubber. The boat is supported on its keel whilst the side bunks merely steady it and support the weight of the engine at the stern. This design can be enhanced for launching and recovery by the addition of tilting keel rollers and bow entry rollers which consists of a row of keel rollers on a tilting rack. They also have self aligning rollers to centre the boat and support the transom.
The second is the "PR" range which is more sophisticated and features banks of self aligning rollers which allow the hull to roll easily on and off the trailer. There are up to 88 of these rollers on the larger trailers, plus extra keel rollers, so the load is well spread across the bottom of the boat.
All self aligning rollers and 8" keel rollers are fitted with free running nylon bushes, and stainless steel is used for the keel roller spindles.
So you can see these are very well designed and built boat trailers. If you are looking to buy a boat trailer or any other type built by R M Trailers, then look in our store.
